The collaboration between XPG Factor and the client began in 2018 with a data visualization project. The primary tool was developed within a limited budget and laid the groundwork for future initiatives. Today, the cooperation is a sustainable strategic partnership whose goal is to create cutting-edge digital solutions for our client’s customers.
Our collaboration with the client is based on transparency, flexibility and Agile work with regular sprints and demos. A particularly important part of the work is the regular commissions – on-site visits by our specialists to install, configure and test the software within the production systems. These practices allow us to solve technical problems quickly, as well as customize solutions to plant conditions and train staff.
As part of the cooperation, XPG Factor specialists personally launched solutions at sites in the USA and Sweden, which helped to ensure stable integration of the technology into production processes.
One of our first joint projects was aimed at modernizing the software used in continuous casting units. The existing solutions were outdated and required operators to be on-site at all times, which made monitoring difficult and slowed down processes.
To solve this, the XPG Factor team developed a cloud-based platform with centralized data storage and real-time visualization using the ThingsBoard IoT framework. The system includes customizable dashboards displaying digital replicas of the production lines, current metrics, real-time alarms and analytical modules. Thanks to this solution, technicians can monitor equipment remotely and make data-driven decisions faster.
The next XPG Factor project was a system for analyzing and visualizing defects on the surface of steel slabs. The system worked with huge volumes of scanned data and displayed defects in bitmap format, allowing quick and accurate detection of scratches, dents and other damages, thus raising product quality.
Even with the extensive data load, our team managed to ensure stable operation of the system, which significantly outperformed the applications previously used by the client.
The XPG Factor team developed a scalable platform based on the ENGINE HMI Framework. It provides collection, processing and visualization of large volumes of production data and supports automation of processes at L1 and L2 levels.
The implemented solution allowed the client to establish reliable data exchange between all system modules and significantly increased its fault tolerance.
Our partnership includes both support and scaling of current solutions and active launch of new projects. Looking ahead, we plan to implement more advanced technologies to further enhance process optimization.
